Lord Michael and His Ark Angels
This Moment Now
The Great Central Sun started to rise above the horizon. It was another beautiful day in Heaven. As Lord Michael gazed upon the valley below, his attention was drawn to a group of angelic children nearby.
Six girls (Amber~Autumn, Celestial, Illumination, Sky, Twilight and Twinkle) and six boys (Micah, Solar, Winks, Whisper, Yonathan and Zamuel) all nine years old, huddled together by the pond named Liquid Heaven. Their voices were filled with excitement and laughter. Lord Michael smiled. ‘Something wonderful is in the making. I can feel it.’
He turned and quietly walked towards them. His armor of sparkling gold flanked by a long, cobalt blue cloak was breathtaking. Secured to his side and tucked in its golden sheath was the Sword of Truth.
Sensing a strong presence, the children turned and saw Lord Michael approaching. They immediately ran towards him. With his mighty arms outstretched, Lord Michael knelt down and gently embraced these angelic lights. They were excited to share their ideas and started to talk all at once. Their combined energy nearly knocked Lord Michael off balance! “Let’s sit under the Angel Oak tree” Lord Michael said with a smile. His armor shined brightly in the morning light.
Like lunar moths on a full moon night, these twelve angelic lights made their way to the Angel Oak tree that overlooked Heaven’s Lake Louise.
Lovingly called the Storytelling Tree, it is here the children would anxiously await Lord Michael’s return from battles afar. Under this ancient and magical oak, Lord Michael would recount, in great detail, his travels to different star systems and the latest adventures of his mighty Light Warriors. His stories made them feel like they were right beside him. No matter how exhausted he was, Lord Michael always took time to tell the tales.
But today was the children’s turn to speak and Lord Michael was all ears! “Where shall we begin?” he asked with a gleam in his eyes.
“We have an idea but need your help” said Twilight.
“Yes. We need to know how to make one” chimed Winks.
“Can you teach us?” asked Sky.
“We will learn quickly!” promised Zamuel.
“We voted you Captain!” announced Sol proudly.
Whisper slowly made his way to Lord Michael’s side. Clutched tightly in his hand was a small, wrinkled piece of white parchment paper. He gave it to Lord Michael. “I tried to draw it as best I could” he said in a soft voice. “Can you tell what it is?”
Lord Michael looked at the picture drawn with purple and gold crayons. With a boisterous laugh, he hugged little Whisper. “That is the finest drawing of an angel ark that I have seen these many eons!” Whisper smiled then quickly looked away, his cheeks now a pinkish hue.
Micah now walked towards the front of the group. His wooden sword, tied to his waist by a piece of rope, dragged along the ground. “I know we are too young to be Light Warriors” he said boldly. “But there must be other ways to serve.” “Indeed there are” Lord Michael replied. As excited as Micah was to help build an Angel Ark, his biggest dream was to one day serve under Lord Michael as a member of the Legions of Light.
Unbeknownst to Micah, his desire to become a Light Warrior had not gone unnoticed. From a distance, Lord Michael would often watch Micah as he practiced alone for hours in the forest after school. With his wooden sword at the ready, Micah would bravely battle his imaginary enemies. Lord Michael was impressed and touched by what he saw. ‘Not much different than I was at the age’ he thought.
Zamuel stepped forward, his face was smudged with dirt. “I’m really good with animals, Lord Michael. I talk to them a lot. They said they will help us.”
Twins Celestial and Illumination shouted loudly: “We want to go on adventures, too! We are not afraid.”
With an orange butterfly perched lightly on her head, Amber~Autumn’s tiny hand touched Lord Michael’s arm. “We want to help children who are not in Heaven” she said. “That would be a good thing, right?” The children were now silent. Their eyes rested on Lord Michael.
Lord Michael knew all the children in Heaven personally. They were like stars on a clear, night sky: infinite, bright and a pleasure to behold. So deep was his love for children that one of his Archangel vows was to protect every child, no matter where they lived, for all eternity.
Love flowed forth from Lord Michael’s heart to these twelve angelic lights. ‘So young – and yet, so willing to serve’ he thought. Drops of golden Liquid Light appeared at the corner of his gold, blue eyes: Archangel tears. “I would be honored to take part in such a noble endeavor!” announced Lord Michael.
The children jumped and danced with delight! Twinkle did several backward somersaults on the soft green grass. White angel trumpets filled the air with sound as shooting stars raced across the pastel pink and blue sky.
Thus, upon this morning in Heaven, a new Order was established: Lord Michael and His Ark Angels.
And so the journey begins!
